TEC’s Board of Directors voted in March to postpone the Annual Meeting of Shareholders until further notice due to federal, state and municipal guidelines and the risks of holding a large gathering during the COVID-19 health crisis. Shareholders were notified of the decision via letter.
As Alaska is currently experiencing another spike of COVID-19 cases, it’s become clear that it will not be safe for TEC to hold any in-person gatherings this summer, including our annual Shareholder picnic and cemetery clean-up events. Even though it saddens us to cancel these beloved events, we cannot risk compromising the safety and health of our Elders, Shareholders, staff, and communities.
TEC staff and the Board’s Communications Committee have been working diligently to find options to hold our Annual Meeting of Shareholders at a distance. We’re glad to announce that the Annual Meeting will take place on Saturday, August 22, 2020 via video and teleconference. More details and information will be announced soon, so please keep an eye on our website and Facebook page.
